Our holiday workshops give students an opportunity to attend 2‑day workshops with some of Australia’s best professional artists. Held during school holidays, participants get an introductory insight to the industry whilst learning some basic techniques that they can begin to apply to their own work. Workshops we have on offer during each year are 2D (digital painting, character design) and 3D (3D character modelling and sculpting).
Each workshop will demonstrate the processes from start to finish when creating a piece of art. This workshop is perfect for beginners who wish to learn more and also more experienced artists who would like to push their work to the next level. These courses are a fantastic starting point for those who are curious about venturing into the competitive world of visual effects and entertainment design and are also vital for students who are creating a portfolio to apply for the Flinders University Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Effects and Entertainment Design) degree.
Testimonials
Ashleigh Paton, teacher
I would just like to say it (the holiday workshop) was very worthwhile and well presented. I will be recommending it to all my students wanting to further their graphic abilities. It was excellent to hear from Ned and his professional journey. He presented in an engaging manner always interacting with the class.

For any budding artist, or teacher, workshops at CDW Studios are a must.. I felt that as their teacher I should do the same. I have now been to two Holiday Workshops, a 3D workshop with Alex Owen and a 2D workshop with Ned Rogers. Both workshops were outstanding. The instructors were professionals in their fields and both were approachable, supportive of attendee’s work samples and provided constructive feedback.

Our school has collaborated with CDW to hold workshops for our design students. They provide highly skilled and educated professionals to deliver their workshops. Their workshops are engaging and practical where students learn and develop relevant industry practices extending their knowledge, skills and processes. As a teacher, collaborating with CDW has helped us to develop curriculum relevant to the industry and have supported us in the process.
