2D Animation 2
Advanced level.
Prerequisite: Animation 1.
This workshop will help you to learn and develop the principles of 2D animation. Classes will be covering universal animation concepts like “keyframes”, “timing and spacing”, “overlapping action”, as well as the more general storytelling and acting performance skills plus the software skills needed in Photoshop to achieve traditional 2D animation.
This is an intensive workshop due to the high volume of drawing required to create traditional animation but the results are highly rewarding as you will be able to see your drawings come to life throughout the workshop.
Each week you will see a live demonstration, both on paper and in Photoshop, you are welcome to draw (follow) along and ask questions. After each class you will receive your homework assignment for the week, and at the beginning of each class you will receive feedback on your work.
Topics that will be covered throughout the 12 week workshop:
- Animating in Photoshop
- Walk and run cycles
- Character design for animation
- Posing and performance
- Acting and dialogue
- Storyboarding
- Animating a short scene
